One might contend that the attention, while merited, is not the type of exposure a company would want: Financing issues, trying to sell an unprofitable venture and muddling through with bankruptcy in two countries. But Quebecor World is a printer for our economic times, the No. 2 in North America at a time when market leaders (Circuit City, AIG, Lehman Bros.) have come crashing down.

RR Donnelley Awarded $60 Million Print Management Agreement by Harrah's

CHICAGO—October 28, 2008—R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. (NYSE:RRD) announced today that it has been awarded a multi-year $60 million Print Management agreement by Harrah's Entertainment, Inc., the world's largest provider of branded casino entertainment. Under the terms of the agreement RR Donnelley will provide a broad range of printing and related services, including commercial print, forms and print fulfillment to Harrah's properties across the United States and in Ontario, Canada. Harrah's Entertainment properties will also use CustomPoint®, RR Donnelley's leading web-enabled Print Management system.

RRD, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Reach Accord

CHICAGO—RR Donnelley and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing have agreed on an $875 million multiyear print management contract extension. The deal expands on the previous relationship between the printer and publisher. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt is a leading publisher of instructional materials for pre-K through grade 12 schools.

New Plant Draws Large Crowd ALEXANDRIA, VA— DigiLink welcomed about 325 guests to an open house in celebration of its new, 39,000-square-foot facility. The new building allowed DigiLink to consolidate its printing and bindery operations under one roof. According to Michael Wight, president and CEO of DigiLink, the facility has enabled the printer to enjoy 15 percent growth since it moved there in early March. Wight says the company is in the process of selecting a new six-color press. RIS, Parsons, Mohawk, IKON, EFI, Pitman, Komori and KBA were among the vendors on hand.
