David Reny, executive vice president, Standard Finishing Systems, has received the 2010 Gegenheimer Award for industry service from NPES, the Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing and Converting Technologies. These annual awards recognize one company and one individual that have demonstrated leadership and commitment to the industry through participation in NPES and industry activities, civic leadership, technical innovation and sound management practices.
The two customers have added new saddlestitching, inspection, perfect binding and three-knife trimming efficiency to their operations. Copy General just completed its first big personalized saddlestitching project with the shop’s new Standard Horizon StitchLiner 5500 equipped with a high-speed sheet feeder.

Standard has brought new perfect binding, saddlestitching, folding and paper handling efficiency to these two new customers. “Standard has a solid track record providing rugged and reliable gear for our on-demand binderies,” said Todd Potrykus, Director, POD, Arvato Digital Services. “The Horizon BQ-270 binder has been a workhorse for us, so the BQ-470 was a natural pick when we wanted more productivity.”
