Printing Impressions and RIT Printing’s Hall of Fame honors Niels Winther, chairman and managing partner of Think Patented.

After completing a 12-month Performance Plus program through Heidelberg, Think Patented was able to increase its average performance by 20 percent and reduce makeready waste by 50 percent. The program saved the business more than 620 production hours, resulting in a total savings of $237,720. "It was crucial to identify training gaps, [and to] resolve applications and process issues. We have better printers and quality processes as a result," said Niels Winther, chairman and managing partner. "We are happy with the outcome of our [Performance Plus] efforts."

Miamisburg, OH-based Think Patented has been awarded 34 2015 Print Excellence Awards from the Printing Industries of Ohio • N. Kentucky. The association holds its Print Excellence Awards Competition to recognize Ohio and northern Kentucky printers who have demonstrated excellence in 34 categories.

Less than a dozen printers have been certified by Pantone for having achieved high standards for superior color output, and Think Patented is one of the recent additions to this list. The rare Pantone certification adds to Think Patented’s long list of industry awards, including its certification as both a G7 Master printer and G7 Process Control Master.
