MARCO ISLAND, FL—One meeting held at the recent Vision 3 Summit here wasn’t listed on the general conference program. Prior to the event, a group of industry leaders convened to discuss the unification of the Printing Industries of America (PIA) and the National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL). The group reached a unanimous consensus to move forward with a plan.
The National Assn. for Printing Leadership and Printing Industries of America have formed a task force to collaborate on and move forward with a unification process. The unification process is expected to take several months to reach completion.
Think Patented of Dayton, OH, will be awarded the Management Plus program’s highest honor, the William K. Marrinan Hall of Fame Award, in addition to a 2011 Management Plus Gold Award. “Management Plus Award-winning companies demonstrate clearly their commitment to excellence in every managerial and operational area of their business, including interactions with their employees, customers, suppliers, and the community at large,” said NAPL President and CEO Joseph P. Truncale, Ph.D.
Leading the award honors were Action Graphics of Lincoln Park, NJ; Castle Press of Pasadena, CA; Hatteras Press of Tinton Falls, NJ; and Specialty Print Communications of Niles, IL. Each company won five awards. Specialty Print Communications led the parade of Gold Awards, with three top prizes.
