Unisource Worldwide, Inc. has successfully entered into a new five-year senior secured asset-based $640 million credit facility. Led by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Wells Fargo, and Barclays Capital, the agreement will provide future additional liquidity to Unisource by allowing the company to increase the size of the facility up to $790 million.

The Printers Advantage Program is now available throughout the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, Northeast and Midwest regions, providing a single-source solution for printing materials. Following the completion of rollouts on the West Coast and in the Southwest, nationwide coverage will be available by March 31.

The Unisource Worldwide Matching Challenge Grant has resulted in $100,000 of new financial support from the industry, along with adding 15 new supporters to the council ranks. “This additional support will fund new initiatives as well as support the ongoing programs of The Print Council, such as the Print in the Mix clearinghouse of print market research and the successful Print Delivers seminars.”

Printing Impressions sat down recently with Jim Dunn, president of Heidelberg USA, and Allan Dragone, CEO of Unisource Worldwide, to discuss the alliance wherein Unisource will serve as the U.S. distributor of Heidelberg’s Saphira-branded consumables and what it will mean for printers.
In attendance at the day-long event were 165 high school and college students and faculty representing 12 graphic arts high school and secondary institutions. “Heidelberg USA hit a grand slam with this inspiring and motivational event,” said Clemson University GC Internship Coordinator Nancy Leininger.
Within the first month of Unisource’s $100,000 Challenge Grant to The Print Council, six companies have signed up and joined together to promote the power of print. They are NewPage, Hewlett Packard, Neenah Paper, PrintingforLess.com, MSP Digital Marketing LLC, CRW Graphics, PennLitho, Dome Printing, and HBP Inc.
