BRAINTREE, MA—Commercial and quick printing provider Braintree Printing has installed a second Xerox iGen4 digital color press in order to meet the needs of other printers, brokers and print resellers throughout New England and New York. The company says it has seen "explosive growth" in the number of color pages it produces, averaging more than one million a month.
Three print service providers in southern California report seeing their digital businesses soar as much as 65 percent, aided by Xerox’s business development resources that helped them uncover new revenue opportunities by focusing on best practices, staff training and target marketing.
"Customer demand for color copying has exploded this year. We average one million color pages a month and run two extended shifts operating our two iGens an average of 20 hours per day," reports owner Jim Corliss.

The company believes that the Color 1000's clear dry ink capabilities will help generate new market opportunities by offering highlighted images and text for short-run magazines and promotional marketing materials.

Franklin Communications in Miami received the coveted Golden Flamingo Award, presented each year to the company that wins the most first-place awards. Awards were presented to 50 Florida-based printing, graphic arts companies and schools.
Ten others, including Printing Impressions Publisher Dave Leskusky, will be inducted into the Soderstrom Society, which recognizes the contributions of industry leaders.
