The holidays are a great time to be in sales. The mood is light. Offices are festive. It’s a chance to be with clients and to be fun. Get out of the office and go see clients.
One guy I know rented a Santa suit. He dropped in on customers and made a big production out of each visit. He shot videos of himself in costume and sent them to clients he couldn’t see personally. Think those videos traveled? Do you think his presence in client offices went unnoticed? I think he’s very smart. He sells boatloads.
There is so much at your fingertips. You can send cards. Company cards are great but personal cards (cards you shopped for and picked out personally) are better. It’s a chance to send a personal note to the people you do business with or want to do business with. It’s a can’t miss. You can drop off snacks. You can show up with a poinsettia.
You can wear a holiday tie or scarf. You can have fun and show that you’re fun to deal with.
One creative dude I know printed door hangers. They said Naughty on one side and Nice on the other. He even printed a few that said Naughty on both sides. He had a ball and made a hit sending them to client contacts.
It’s a mistake to miss any sales day. We all know that. But missing days in December is a real fumble. It’s such an easy time to make a hit. The season really tees things up for you. December is a great month to be in sales.
Happy Holidays! Make the days count and set up a record breaking 2025.
