Everything’s Bigger in Texas

Texas is home to many things … the Alamo, country music, sprawling ranches, spicy chili, the Dallas Cowboys (love them or hate them), and so much more. “They” say that everything is BIGGER in Texas. This year, Texas is home to the inaugural PRINTING United show, housed in the expansive Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in the heart of Dallas.
The last few weeks, we’ve been receiving a constant flow of news coming from exhibitors who are eager to share their newest products and news with attendees. Here are a few more products to be on the lookout for at the show!
In its North America debut, Durst is showcasing the P5 350 at PRINTING United in booth 7816. It’s an all-in-one hybrid solution for flexible roll and board printing up to 3.5m. The printer is equipped with the Durst Print Workflow software and the monitoring tool, Durst Analytics. Durst software turns the printer into a production unit and results in a comprehensive platform. Consultancy, integration services, and applications training support to manage this new Durst ecosystem. The P5 350 multi-roll option is using a compact and robust design. The P5 350 offers fast media loading in two positions for single and dual rolls and foldable roll tables. It also offers automatic detection of media width and thickness, an intelligent multi-board infeed for up to six boards simultaneously.
After its initial introduction at FESPA in Munich, Germany, Durst was recognized and won the European Digital Press Association (EDP) award for its P5 350 printing system. This industry recognition is based on the innovative P5 technology and the P5 350 triumphed in the EDP Flatbed/Hybrid Printer < 250 sqm/h category.
FLEXcon Company, Inc. is launching a new product at PRINTING United booth 8024 called FLEXcon HX5000 with HOV-X Technology. This new slidable, repositionable, removable adhesive system is designed for full and partial bus and train wraps, shuttle bus, and box truck wraps, and bus posters where the application surface is primarily vertical. This product allows the installer (novice or professional) to remove the graphic, snap it up and reposition it without the risk of stretching or distorting the graphic. The air egress liner reduces air entrapment and makes bubble removal a snap.
Barbieri North America and Color Concepts is showcasing the newest Barbieri solutions in color measurement at PRINTING United in booth 7235. The brand new Spectro LFP qb Textile Edition is the first fully automatic, high-end measurement solution for all types of textile applications. This device has an electrostatic textile sample holder which includes a standardized sticky white mat that ensures the textile will stay in place. Thanks to the large aperture of 8mm, the automatic measurements are highly accurate as well as repeatable. The sensing unit guarantees that even distorted targets are measured precisely. An air ventilation system ensures a clean optics for every measurement. The Spectro LFP qb Textile Edition eliminates the trial and error processes due to the accuracy of the device ensuring ultimate efficiency by saving time and money.
The NOVAFLOW ULTRA Automated Dispensing System from Corob North America will be shown at PRINTING United booth 11361. Designed specifically for narrow web applications, N20 ULTRA is ideal when producing jugs, one-gallon cans or five-gallon pails that require a high degree of accuracy and repeatability. The N20 ULTRA is a cost-effective system designed to provide fully-automated dispensing without a major capital outlay. A fully functioning unit installs in only a few hours. All pneumatic, electrical, and fluid connections are shipped fully connected for simple assembly. The computer, pneumatic, and electrical hardware are housed in a NEMA 4 cabinet for protection against environmental elements.
Eliminate the risk of human error when it comes to detecting errors on labels and packaging. With GlobalVision, users can automatically inspect hardcopy by seamlessly scanning in printed components and comparing them against approved artwork. GlobalVision offers a full range of certified scanners that enable off-line inspections to protect against errors on proofs, labels, cartons, nested press sheets, and more. The certified GlobalVision R44 Scanner can inspect printed components such as labels, cartons, leaflets, and flexographic materials up to a maximum dimension of 44 inches (1118 mm).
