About Michael Siegal: Michael Siegal, executive chairman of the board for Olympic Steel, grew the company from $35 million to more than $1 billion in revenue. In 1974, Siegal joined Olympic Steel, one of the top metal service centers in North America, and 10 years later, he became CEO and joined the board of directors. During his time with Olympic Steel, he orchestrated seven acquisitions, three major expansions and three Greenfield startups. Siegal led the initial public offering in 1994, receiving the highest ever valuation of a steel company, and a secondary public offering in 1996. Siegel is a national expert in the steel industry and has been awarded numerous business awards, including Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Metal Center News Steel Man of the Year, and Inside Business’ Northeast Ohio Business Hall of Fame.
