Would you stay silent on a sales call?
Imagine if you called someone you’d love to do business with. And, if they answered the phone, you stayed absolutely silent! Wouldn’t that be crazy?
But many people do the exact equivalent of this on LinkedIn. They connect without sending a message. And, if someone accepts their connection, they do nothing.
Send a connection message
Tell people why they should connect with you. Tell them what’s in it for them. Make it personal. This means that someone is much more likely to accept your connection request.
Respond after connecting
If someone accepts your request, send them a message. Thank them for connecting. Offer them help and resources.
Now you are on the way to creating engagement. It’s so much better than staying silent and leaving someone wondering why they connected with you.
