At PRINTING United Expo, SnapPress introduced the SnapPress LP-1, a short-run inkjet press for prime labels that is compact, affordable, and easy-to-use. Designed with small businesses in mind, the LP-1 is ideal for both consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands looking to bring label making in-house, as well as for print shops seeking a short-run press solution.
“The real market is available for the short-run guys,” said Kevin Davis, owner of SnapPress. “The real thing is to be able to bring other people into the market that don’t make their own labels.”
Detailing the evolution of the company, Davis describes building the LP-1 from scratch and focusing on creating a simple-to-use press. “This thing has to look different, it has to be easy to use. I don’t want anybody to have to web the machine,” he noted. The LP-1 does in fact web itself, eliminating the intimidation factor for some users, specifically those outside of the printing industry.
For Davis, creating a “brilliantly simple” machine not only creates ease of access for small businesses looking to make their own labels, but is a testament to the brand’s promise.
The SnapPress LP-1 is designed with straight media to remove hassles of a typical webbing process; features a progress bar that signals real time job status; includes media guides and a splicing table with magnetic hold downs; and features a 20" touchscreen.
