Offering staff attractive wages and benefits is an essential part of retaining and recruiting workforce talent. Given the important role employee benefits and compensation play in staffing printing operations, Printing Impressions and NAPCO Research conducted a research study to identify salary ranges for key job positions and the benefits that print service providers are offering their employees.
This study offers insights into the salaries of 26 job titles, from executive management to production roles, and the various types of benefits offered. The report includes table that shows the highest, lowest, and average salary for each position evaluated.
Survey respondents represent companies of various sizes and are mostly privately owned (80%). Overall, respondents report that salaries increased 3.3%, on average, in the past year. In addition to salary, 64% of responding companies pay bonuses.
In terms of employee benefits, more than three-quarters of respondents report their companies offer staff members paid vacations, paid holidays, healthcare insurance, and a 401(k) retirement plan.
The most common benefit printing companies offer employees is personal time off. Almost all respondents indicate that their firms give full-time employees paid vacation and paid holidays. Paid vacation/personal leave is the top benefit respondents offer (Figure 1), followed by paid holidays. Close to two-thirds offer bereavement leave, and more than half provide paid sick leave. Only 32% provide maternity leave and 31% offer wellness programs.
