Bubble Wrap Advent Calendar (Video)
This week's piece, designed by Oliver Bentley; and printed by The Print Project in Bradford, UK, took its inspiration from bubbles. A fun and interactive calendar, this piece is preprinted on letterpress and then a sheet of bubble wrap is single-stitched on top of the calendar.
This project manages to tickle our senses, with a sharp green color palette, and a Christmas tree made out of circles. The texture from the stock offers a tactile experience, with beautiful typography and strategically placed bubble wrap placed on top of each number. What you'll find is a very unique sound incorporated into a printed piece.

Growing up in Germany, Sabine started her design career in Frankfurt, before moving to Australia and then the United States. Seeing designers struggle worldwide to stay current with new papers and paper trends inspired Sabine to create PaperSpecs, an independent and comprehensive Web-based paper database and weekly e-newsletter. She is also a speaker on paper issues and the paper industry. Some refer to her lovingly as the "paper queen" who combines her passion for this wonderful substrate called paper with a hands-on approach to sharing her knowledge.
