A certified coach offers guidance, perspective, and tangible results to her clients.
One such coach (full disclosure: It’s my daughter, Madeline) has a striking LinkedIn headline: “I help self-aware achievers stop overthinking and take action.” People come to her often tied up in knots, full of doubt and questions. She works to untangle, calm, and free people to move forward.
Madeline is a master at social media as a way to promote her work. Her LinkedIn page is an example of how it should be done. She makes brilliant and highly entertaining videos on YouTube. There is even a podcast. All of this is designed to create a first impression which reflects the experience of working with her.
But digital can only do so much.
So that she has something to hand out at live events, Madeline printed up some business cards. When it came time to choose a paper, she made a discovery completely by accident: Paper matters.
On a whim, the coach went with a “velvety-smooth” option. She had no idea what would come next…
During a weekend conference, people asked for a business card. In the moment, a tactile experience occurred and there was a universal response: “Ooooooo...this feels great. It’s soothing.”
What more could someone in her position ask for?
One week after the event, Madeline texted some great news: 100% of the people who took her wonderful, velvety-smooth, calming business card set up an appointment to speak with her.
100%!!!
