About Jim Tressel: As head football coach at Ohio State University, Jim Tressel led the Buckeyes to win the 2002 National Championship and seven Big Ten Championships. He achieved the first 14-0 season in major college football in more than 100 years and holds an 81% winning percentage, one of the top in the school’s history. Prior to his Ohio State days, Tressel was head football coach for Youngstown State University, guiding the team to the playoffs 10 times and winning four national championships from 1986-2000.
Tressel’s passion for winning on the field is just as notable as his achievements off the field. He has been president of Youngstown State University since 2014, where under his leadership enrollment has increased, student retention is up and fundraising levels are at record highs. Tressel published a New York Times Best Seller, "The Winner’s Manual: For the Game of Life." The book provides the “Big Ten” fundamentals for success, which include Attitude, Discipline, Faith, Handling Adversity & Success, Excellence, Love, Toughness, Responsibility, Team and Hope. Tressel’s winning attitude through adversity and all phases of life is truly an inspiration.
