Henry Freedman of Image Test Labs has claimed a printing industry first by demonstrating during a recent production test run that an inkjet web press could produce the color image reproduction quality of a commercial sheetfed offset press. The production run, which consumed three miles of off-the-shelf offset coated roll stock, shows the same image printed side-by-side by each press, and demonstrates that the output quality of an inkjet web press can be capable for commercial color work.
